MICHAEL BASSETT IS THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF 13CARAT PRODUCTIONS.
Michael Bassett is an award-winning playwright, director, filmmaker & actor living in Chicago, IL. A resident playwright at Chicago Dramatists, his stage plays have been produced in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. As a playwright & actor he was a member of the celebrated Circle Rep Lab in New York City. He was twice awarded The Hawthorndon Fellowship for playwrighting to Edinburgh, Scotland. The Sloan Science and Technology Fund commissioned his play, "Superstrings", and as a result he was invited as a keynote speaker for the Arts/Science International Conference at the Museum of Natural History in New York City.
His 1990 experimental film The Other, received honors at international film festivals including Hiroshima, Athens, Rochester, and Las Vegas. His short film, The White Box, was distinguished by invitation into the international film series called Spiritual Circle Cinema. The White Box as well as his short film, the First Horseman, were both distributed by Gaia. Other films include the music video, "Far" by the artist, Andy GOAT Rosen. His dance/video collaborations include but are not limited to Gravity's Dance, Superstrings, and Collective Psyche with Momenta Dance Theater.

SANDRA KAUFMANN IS THE PRODUCER OF 13CARAT PRODUCTIONS
A long time professional performing artist and director, Sandra produces theatre, dance, video, film and interdisciplinary collaborations in New York City and Chicago. She is internationally recognized as a leading authority on American modern dance whose work has received awards from the Bossak Heilbrun Foundation, Dance Magazine Foundation, The Library of Congress and National Foundation for Advancement of the Arts. Her choreography has been performed throughout the US and internationally in Brazil, France, Greece and Slovakia. A former member of the Martha Graham Dance Company, Sandra graduated summa cum laude from Northern Illinois University and has served on the faculty at Barnard College, NYU, the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, the José Limón Institute and The University of Chicago. Sandra currently serves as the director of Dance at Loyola University Chicago and a producer for 13Carat Productions.
